Contacted by a prospective client who wanted to put a chemical into a PVC tank – they assured us they’d been told by another supplier the selected flexitank material would hold the liquid.

What liquids can I transport in a ContainerPactm Flexitank?

Flexitank Australia can manufacture a tank to handle the bulk transport of most non-hazardous liquids. We have an extensive library of liquid research and will work closely with prospective clients to determine what type of tank is suitable for your liquid including testing if we do not have field and testing data already available. We regret we cannot provide tanks for hazardous goods due to international shipping line regulations which prohibit the use of ContainerPactm flexitanks, or any flexitanks, for these liquids.

What insurance do I need?

We strongly recommend that an appropriate marine / land transport cargo insurance policy is taken out on all shipments.  Flexitank Australia offer product liability insurance to USD 5 Million. All claims must be firstly directed to your marine cargo insurer. We also request notification of any potential product issues so as to keep accurate incident reporting and offer where possible emergency assistance.
As a member of the Container Owners Association and a quality manufacturer, Flexitank Australia will provide you with a high quality tank that meets certifications and specifications. However, you must use our tanks and accessories such as bulkheads as the COA demands that you may not mix and match components or risk loss of insurance coverage.  You must also hold your own Marine Cargo Insurance.

How many unfilled tanks can you transport to me in a single container?

We can transport 75 ContainerPactm flexitanks in a 20 ft container, 150 ContainerPactm flexitanks in a 40ft container and 175 ContainerPactm flexitanks in a 40ft high cube container.

Quantities will vary depending on the size and configuration of the purchased ContainerPactm flexitank.

Are ContainerPactm flexitanks made in Australia?

Yes - Flexitank is the only manufacturer making flexitanks for transport in Australia. This has numerous quality control, stock and delivery benefits for our clients as we don’t demand fixed order sizes.

Do you provide export support?

Yes - Flexitank Australia can help you export tanks on their own or co-ordinate supply, fit and delivery of your bulk liquid anywhere in the world using our extensive networks.

What about maintenance and support?

Flexitank Australia can arrange onsite maintenance and support including transpumping. We also keep tanks in stock in the unlikely event that you have problems with one of our tanks.

What specifications must the selected containers meet?

The following is a list of specifications all containers utilizing must meet:

Container Quality

Containers must meet the following criteria. Please ensure your shipping line and their releasing depot is fully aware of these container requirements. If sub standard containers are used it may void any insurance claims on the flexitanks.

Flexitank Grade:

  • 30 T Rated 20’ GP
  • No older than 3 years of age
  • No gouges in the floor
  • No dents
  • No repair panels
  • No odour
  • Food Grade

Container Loading

The flexitanks must be loaded +/- 5% of their rated capacity. I.e. a 24KL flexitank must be loaded between 22.8KL – 25.2KL.

Container Handling

Containers fitted with full flexitanks must always be lifted from the top not by a container fork lift. Failing to move / lift containers from the top will put undue pressure on the side walls of the container and may result in significant damage to the container, flexitank and a loss of product.
